Cant change drive volume serial, please help!

hI, i am new here and amazed at all the things i anticipate this sofware is capable of. I found it accidently on a CD i bought off ebay to deal with other PC problems. I do plan to make a donation in the near future. My big problem now is I have less than 30 days left to get my activation restored. I cannot anywhere find the EXE. file for Change Volume Serial number OR see a button in any of the versions of WINKEYFINDER that i used so far. I was able to back up the activation before formatting the drive. I also was able to use the change key feautre by simply typing in my current key (no actual change). I do not get any error messages so I know its just a matter of me finding this EXE file. I searched my computer after downloading VB tools. They extract so fast into winsys32 that I cant see if that file was in the bundle or not. I am running the latest version of winkey. Sorry this is so long, I really hope someone can help!
b.t.w my o/s in an OEM version of xp sp1 that was upgraded to sp2 via windows update. New install is also upgraded to sp2. That was a miracle in itself since its not activated or validated genuine. (have to really play with automatic update settings to do that) Thanks so much for any help!

Re: Cant change drive volume serial, please help!

I forgot to add that my copy of windows IS LEGAL and was validated as genuine. Maybe that is why I was able to make it to service pack 2 updates. I am sure that windows media 11 is out of the question until its activated but i dont need it anyway.
I am afraid I am running out of chances to activate this windows key. I always do it by phone and it has been activated maybe 7 times now on swapped drives. If this activation restore will work for me, it would be so great to never have to get on phone with microsoft again! Even if I can just reset the clock back to day one every 30 days I could live with that! I really hope someone can help me figure this out. I am not sure how active this forum still is.
