XP Upgrade to XP OEM / key change fails / SP2

Hi,

I have a problem with keyfinder. I've installed a slipstreamed (nlite) Version of XP SP2 using an additional retail license I have (XP1 upgrade). Now I'd like to change the license on that computer back to its original (HP) OEM key so I can sell the retail license, which I don't need anymore. So I've been trying keyfinder 1.72 final as well as the lates RC, but all I get using the recommended method for changing the key is this -

Quote:
Error! This Probably Happene's When you Key in a Wrong/Invalid/Banned Product Key! Please Check the Key Which You have Entered and make sure it is correct!
and using the beta SP2 version, the computer will take some time thinking and then do nothing until I press exit. The key is not changed, however. I even checked if I need to reboot for changes to take effect. The key I entered IS the key printed on the OEM sticker on the computer, I double checked that.

Is this my mistake? Am I doing something wrong? It all seems pretty straight forward to me, but there's always a chance. Is there a technical problem with changing a license back from a retail XP SP1 upgrade license to an OEM XP SP1 license? Is there a rememdy for this problem?

Thanks a lot for every help!

best, smx

Re: XP Upgrade to XP OEM / key change fails / SP2

It is not possible to change a key from Different Versions meaning a Retail XP will not recognize OEM key and a OEM will not work for Retail.
The main core system has restrictions.
