Would like CD KefyFinder for CD

I could use a utility that will read the CD Key from the CD. Example of why (something similar happened to me today – They sent a laptop with Home instead of pro, I had all the software installed when I discovered it was pro. They sent a new CD, but being and OEM CD no CD Key, had to do a compete reinstall from scratch)

– An OEM (Dell) computer with Windows XP installed only comes with the CD Key on a label stuck on the side of the computer. If it gets destroyed, there is no copy of the CD Key. The hard drive goes bad or the OS is corrupted. I want to reinstall the OS or upgrade without reformatting the hard drive or do a custom install. The OEM CD does an unattended install which repartitions the hard drive so it can put its utilities on a small partition and uses the rest of the drive for the OS. I want to do something different but cannot because if I try to run the install manually from the CD I am asked for the CD Key which I do not have.

It would be nice to have a utility to read the CD Key from a CD.

But Cd Key is not stored in a CD to read.
All cds are validated from an algorithm, but not from stored key data base.
