| Hi folks. Just joined the forum so this is my first post. Many thanks for WinKeyFinder - a very handy piece of software. However, I've run 1.72 on several XPP systems, both SP1 and SP2 (I'm a PC builder and Tech) and I keep getting the 'Unexpected Error' message. Fortunately, someone on the net recommended trying WKF in Safe Mode and sure enuff, it worked fine. So I'm not posting to complain, just to say 'Thanks' and let you know about the error message. Cheers |

| Re: Unexpected Error still happens for me... Donot understand, works in safe mode that means some antivirus or other programs blocking winkeyfinder to run. Strange. |

| Re: Unexpected Error still happens for me... Just thought I would mention that I am a long time user - haven't posted before however and I too have had the unexpected error immediately arise upon execution of the exe. including the final release. Brand new setup, only Norton running and existing copies on established systems are still running with no problem on other systems with the same Norton etc. Haven't tried "Safe Mode yet" Will definitely try. One extra comment - did have WGA on and then used app to remove it, Did the WGA specifically try to stop WinKeyFinder????? And even after removal is continuing to block WKF?? Just wondering - going to try safe mode! THanks! EdR |

Here are the names of the programs that work on Win XP: 1.Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder v1_5 - works fine on XP, but my annoying Trendmicro Antivirus makes positive detection of "virus" J_Bean. The only guilt that trendmicro claims - is, that someone can read the activation key with this tools. 2. Alternative tools, that Trendmicro is yet not aware of - is the program RockXP4.exe, that also works fine (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html) Wkf 1.72 worked locally on my workstation in NORMAL mode with Trendmicro agent in tray, but failed on several XP in Remote Desktop mode. |
