| OffKeyDOs Probably Displays all the keys which are Present in the registry by fetching the right required GUI-ID's, some times the GUI-ID's are differently stored in some machines if they have installed service packs. Example: Win 2000 SP1 - Office 2000 SP1= No key shown (Office 2000 need 's a patch from Microsoft) When you have Win2k with Office 2k SP1 Installed for both, Chances are that key might not be shown, so you better install a newer Service pack for Win2k, the latest is Service Pack 4. For users on other machines If you are unable to get the Key Then Please follow these steps and get back to me! Open ur registry you can do this by typing "regedit" in Start Menu>>Run and press Enter Registry window will popup now you will see these fields: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT HKEY_CURRENT_USER HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE HKEY_USERS HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG Click on + (Plus) symbol of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then recursively move to: Software/Microsoft/office/11.0/Registration after this you will see this very important which looks like this a folder with {90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9} [<<((Graphical User Interfaces ID))/(SubKey)] So Please Get that Subkey and email it to me or post it in the forum I will get back to you asap, and correct the error in the next release!( for dos Verions I will email you the New version as soon as i can which will enable you to get back your product key)<br> NOTE: WinKeyFinder NOW doesnot Support Office 97, a small kid can find out where your Installed key is Stored? still donno how to read this! If Office 97 is still running on the computer, then you can get the Product ID from the Help...About Excel menu item (or the equivalent in any other Office application). The CD key is a simple transposition of the digits in the Product ID. Belarc Advisor and Magical Jelly Bean can also produce the CD Key if Office 97 is still listed in the Windows registry. Brad Wrote: On my computer, my CD key and product ID have the values (n, x and y are digit placeholders): nnn0-nnnnnnn CD-key xxxxx-nnn-nnnnnnn-0yyyy Product ID The transition from CD-key to Product ID was to move the 0 from position 4 in CD-key to position 16 in the Product ID. In addition to this, additional digits were inserted at the beginning and end of the Product ID. The last four of these additional digits vary from one install to a reinstallation on the same computer; the first five added digits appear to be constant. For Office 97 Back up the registry before starting. If you are unsure about these steps dont do it. It might harm your computer's health! Here's the procedure: · Launch REGEDIT by selecting Start/Run, typing REGEDIT in the text box and pressing Enter. · Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click on the + and scroll down to Software. · Find the Microsoft listing click on it, and look for the directory that contains software you need to reinstall. · Double-click the Product ID listing and select the middle two number strings. For example, in the string 53491-460-1656111-49145, you'd select 460-1656111. (for Office 97) One more thing, add a 1 to the first 3 numbers, 4601-1656111, as the product ID has 11 numbers. Hope this works for you! To find the Windows CD Key: find Windows, click the "current version" with the + sign, don't click the +sign, click on the words "current version". The product ID and the product key will appear. It's all the numbers and letters that you see. · Highlight, Press Control C to copy the CD key to the clipboard, then paste it someplace where you can reuse it. Some experts advise compiling all your keys to a text document, then printing it out for safekeeping. |
