Blindwrite Suite 6.0.0.14 Review - Blindwrite Suite 6.0.0.14

Did you ever found yourself creating a “perfect copy” of a CD with a computer program that you liked? How many times did it happen that such copies were “so perfect” that they didn't work? Even once means way too many times, but racing for perfection is a perfectly normal thing.

A program that doesn't fail to create perfect copies of your optical discs is BlindWrite, the successor to BlindRead. There is a lot of technical stuff behind it, but I will spare you the details, since with each of its latest versions, BlindWrite gets more and more user friendly, leaving the advanced manual settings in the past.

The BlindWrite Suite is a small power pack, its kit having only 3.1MB in size. The installation process goes on without asking too many questions, but there's a little problem with it.

Before this version, you had the freedom of choosing which access driver to use, but now the program installs its own Patin Couffin driver without asking. Apart from that, it also installs and activates a module called Ez-Play that replaces the Autoplay RPMS emulation. What's good for the user? This simplifies the use of backup copies; at least this is what VSO Software claims.

The good thing for beginners is that BlindWrite became extremely easy to use, thanks to the one-click style interface. Since I’ve started talking about the interface, I have to tell you that BlindWrite also supports graphic themes that allow you to customize its look and feel.

The new reading and writing engine
supports both CD and DVD discs and works with most hardware, being optimized for high quality writers. To work with the program, you have to choose one of the three available options: Copy, Read or Write.

To make a long story short, I will say that BlindWrite can copy one disc to another, read and write the image of the disc into its own file format, or write a media using an image file. When burning a disc, BlindWrite supports more file formats apart from its own, and I will only point ISO, CloneCD or Alcohol images here.

For each of the important program events you can choose to be notified by a voice...or not. You won't work blindfolded with this application, so if you need information about what's happening, you can check the extended log information available.

This suite has also a language editor included with it and supports over thirty languages. The options available in the Settings area also include one that allows you to let the program send information about your optical drive and discs that you use, in order to improve support and compatibility, but you can disallow this if you think it's not safe.

You can test this program for 21 days, so don't wait any longer and get it now!

The Good

BlindWrite Suite is small, reliable, very easy to use, supports a lot of languages and even looks great, above all that! When thinking about its price, this can be a good deal.

The Bad

The Help system for BlindWrite is almost absent, and there can't be found any details about the Ez-Play module and some of the translations are badly done.

The Truth

For its price and beyond it, BlindWrite is probably the best in its field, but I hope they will soon get back to power users too. Control is everything, and even though this program does your job better automatically than using manual settings, it's always good to have those at hand!

You have three full weeks available to enjoy this program, so why not start today?
