Windows 7 gadgets - can you make them immoveable ( so no sidebar pops up)?

GRRRRRRRRRRRR - This one's driving me mad!! I install windows 7's great looking clock gadget on my desktop & every time I accidentally mouse over it, it activates. It changes from see-through and the tool/drag bar pops up. Especially distracting if you like your clock on the far RH side of the screen & use the up/down scroll bars a lot!!!. I don't want to be able to activate it - or drag it - or edit it - or close it - I JUST WANT it to transparently (literally) sit there on my desk top for ever!!! Any ideas anybody ?
