It seems that Sony is very productive this month, as the manufacturer launched several diverse products for all types of customers and markets from DVD writers, DVD players, new Walkman branded models to latest iPod competitors, notebooks and Blu-ray PCs.
Consequently, Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division released yesterday its latest Memory Stick Data Rescue Service. The service enables recovery of photography and data files which, once stored on a Memory Stick, have been lost or deleted.
The good news delivered by the manufacturer is that this new Memory Stick File Rescue software is compatible with all Sony Memory Stick cards sold since … 1998.
But, you must keep in mind the fact that the success of the file recovery depends on the state of the data and whether or not it has been overwritten. So, don’t expect miracles!
The online tool is very simple to use, as you must only register, enter your Memory Stick model name and serial number and then download the software you need.
According to Sony’s representatives, this easy to use Memory Stick File Rescue software can recover .jpg (DCF format), MPEG1 and .mp4 (MS Video File Format) files and, moreover, is also capable of restoring most office data files including Powerpoint and Word documents.
The online service was especially created for all “greenhorns” who prefer only user-friendly software applications. As a result, you will be guided through seven uncomplicated steps, during which the files are verified, recovered and resaved.
The great news is that it is entirely free of charge and can be downloaded from the Sony customer support website at:
