WinKeyFinder 1.65, 1.66 & 1.70 cause "Unexpected Error" Everytime I try to run WinKeyFinder I get the SAME error. A dialog box pops upon immediately after running the executable file that ways "Unexpected Error" Unfortunately no more information is provided. I get the SAME error with WinKeyFinder version 1.65, 1.66 and 1.70 beta. Please note that I have ALREADY downloaded and installed the following required files (but I still get the SAME error). VBRun60sp4.rar scripten.rar The ONLY version of WinKeyFinder that I am able to run without ANY problems is version 1.51. I can also run WinKeyLite and WinKeyDos without problems. For your information I am running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed, as well many other programs. I do NOT have Visual Basic 6 installed (except for the rar files shown above). However I do have Visual Basic 2005 Express installed. However VB 2005 Express is based on .NET and uses the .Net Framework 2.0. I hope that somebody will be able to help me figure out how to get WinKeyFinder to work. This is the ONLY application that I have EVER had problems running in my system. Kind Regards, FlyingNederlander

Re: WinKeyFinder 1.65, 1.66 & 1.70 cause "Unexpected Error" This is really a sick error so far,.. eating even authors head,.. he is rewriting the code slowly but surely he is aiming to remove this bug,.. Hopefully this error will be out,.. I will suggest you to use for time being winkeylite and officekeylite with some reduced features but they do the work for you.. If you have any problems donot hesitate to post them, I will do my best to contact the author and let him know and get back the answer,.. right now i have sent him a mail,.. Thanks

Re: WinKeyFinder 1.65, 1.66 & 1.70 cause "Unexpected Error" Thank you for passing this 'major' bug report to the author. I hope he will have a new version available soon. I am able to use 'Winkeylite' without a problem, but officekeylite presents problems as well. The software takes a LONG time to load, but when it finally does load it 'freezes' immediately after I select one of the items in the list. With regards to changing the key in my system using OfficeKeyLite OR WinKeyFinder v 1.55; what I can tell you is that it doesn't really seem to work. The key IS changed, but it reverts to the OLD key immediately after I reboot the system. I don't know why, but after spending HOURS reading webpages realted to the topic, through google...I have found out that other people are having the same problem after having installed Service Pack 2 of Windows XP. I explain the whole process in another of the posts that I made at this bulletin board. The title of that other post is: How to successfully change Windows XP Key. If you have any ideas on how to solve that issue, please let me know. Kind Regards, FlyingNederlander. P.S. - By the way, my current Windows XP software has a blocked VLK (Volume License Key). I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But I suppose that there must be a way to change the blocked VLK key to a valid (legitimate) key. However, WinKeyLite and WinKeyFinder 1.55 don't seem to do the trick.

Re: WinKeyFinder 1.65, 1.66 & 1.70 cause "Unexpected Error" I am getting the same "unexpected error" message on my Xp Pro computer but WinkeyFinder works fine on my Xp Home computer . The error is the same for version 1.61 and newer. The problem seems to be related to Xp Pro only.
