Cant Restore Activation Status

Hi I'm kind of new to winkey finder and looked through the faq and couldn't see anything that helps me with restoring my xp pro activation file? I backed up using winkeyfinder 1.65 and formated my system. Reloaded my wpa.dbl file i saved after a clean install but doesn't seem to work, even restarting after restoring it. Am I wrong in in thinking this will help me in my situation. Many thanks, Anthony

Yes! It does not work!
There is one option which is still beta it works one some m/c and does not on some m/c.
The thing is that the Old wpa.dbl has your old (Drive C:\ or D:\ where ever you installed XP previuosly) drive serial number, hence when you format the drive your drive serial number is changed to new one! and your activation hence fails.
I'm working on changing the serial number to older one before restoring the back so that your activation works!
Gimme some time before I can get throuh this!
Currently I'm little busy with my college!

Hey it's no probblem thanks for the heads up though! I was lucky enough today to ring MS and get them to activate my os for a 6th time (oem version ). Best luck with all college work I'm so glad mine's all over with...

Thanks alot, Soon You all guys need not call up MS for small changes in hardware or reinstallation of windows!
