New WinKeyFinder1.67 Beta comming up..

Hello all-
I've tried to find the Office 2000 Pro key from a computer, but the program won't figure it out automatically. I tried the GUI-ID, but it won't work, either. Here it is:

{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}

In the FAQ's it said that if I couldn't get it to work to post it here. Thank you very much.

Cannot find Office 2000 Key

I'm sorry!
I forgot to include some more info:
I just downloaded WinKeyFinder 1.66. It works fine for the WinXP key, but just not office. Thanks!

RE: More info...

Sorry... the computer I want the key from has SR-1 (I don't know if it's SR-1a or just SR-1). I'm downloading SP3 right now to update it right now, and I'll try installing it to see what it does.
BTW, I found the GUI-ID in a different part of the registry than was originally in the FAQ -- it was still in the Office section, though.
I'm also running WinKeyFinder on another computer than the one that I want the key off of -- I tried it on the one PC, but it doesn't want to run on W95, I think. Thanks for your help so far!

Re: RE: More info...

Win95 might not have fe runtime files.
Download them, these files can be easilly found just google them with "VB Runtime files".
I will tell you the story behind finding keys, the faq is little too old, actually If there is DigitalProductID present in your office 2000 Installation in registry then there are 100% chances that you will find the key.
But due to some problem earlier in off2k it is not implemented but installation of service pack get rids of this problem and
Quote:
DigitalProductID
installs it in registry!
So Here DigitalProductID is the most important thing!
I hope you have understood what exactly I mean?

WinkeyFinder won't find my Office 2000 pro key either. It's Microsoft Word 2000 9.0.6926 SP-3. My product ID,, according to the MS Word "About" tab, is 25902-OEM-0080706-34872. (MS Excel gives me the same product ID). If I look up the GUI-ID using regedit, it gives me the same number, namely 25902-OEM-0080706-34872.

When I paste that into the appropriate slot on WinkeyFinder and hit enter, it beeps but won't do anything further.

I know I can look it up on my master disks, but I thought the point of WinkeyFinder was that it would give it to me. And I DO have SP-3 installed. I'm using Windows XP Media Edition.

Cannot find Office 2000 Key

Sorry about those 3 identical messages, but I was using IE and it kept telling me "Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 535 Incorrect authentication data", so I tried again a couple of times.

Also I was getting "error on the page" messages.

When I logged back in using the Firefox browser, I found out that not only had it posted, but it had posted three times. Looks like there's an error in the web page code that IE bombs out on but Firefox doesn't. I sent more details to help@winkeyfinder.com.

RE: Cannot find Office 2000 Key

I will look into your problem, I have already mentioned manytimes I have a problem reading office 2k product keys, there is almost next none softwares that read office2k, and dont perform things which are done by winkeyfinder yet they sell it for 6-12$, not complaining , I'm happy to have winkeyfinder community.
I have great plans for next version of winkeyfinder, thing is that I'm working out for winkeydos and office keydos, once I finish that, It will take some time to start coding for winkeyfinder.

For your problem I suggest apply some patches/updates if available and then try hopefully you will be able to get the product key.
It is actualy problem with off2k the way the DigitalProduct Id is stored!
