This comming week WinkeyFinder 1.70 will come out of beta

As the title says this coming week winkeyfinder 1.70 will be out of beta so far no reports have been recieved and it has been also seen that the activation backup and restore are working fine since I have come across a new thing that might cause a problem with the activation restore that is the date of backup should match with the date of restore this can be easilly done by changing your system date when you restore the activation?

This is the simplest solution i find for this problem change the system date restart the system and try to restore the backup!

Also I'm looking for some user interaction to see what more features can be added to winkeyfinder, remember more number of features = the softwre becomes more unstable needs more tests and it has to be done carefully,..
Please do suggest me features that are practical and viable..

Since there is one complaint in support about the "Unexpected Error" can you solve it? please do that..
Its like not every one knows what run time files are required please try to eleminate the runtime files required..

Running XP PRO/SP2 retail version, cannot change key to OEM XP PRO/SP2.

Copied straight from sticker. Says its invalid. Not so.

Legit OEM version - never been installed.

Hi, Let me tell you this problem is not related to winkeyfinder!

You should know this, You cannot change a Product key from OEM/Retail or Retail to OEM, this is the problem with Windows XP.

Change the Product Key works only if you are
changing from one VL key to another VL key. You're attempting to change
the Product Key of an OEM installation to that of a Volume Licensed
installation, and this cannot be done.

Product Keys are bound to the specific type and language of CD/license
(OEM, Volume, retail, full, or Upgrade) with which they are purchased.
For example, a WinXP Home OEM Product Key won't work for any retail
version of WinXP Home, or for any version of WinXP Pro, and vice versa.
An upgrade's Product Key cannot be used with a full version CD, and
vice versa. An OEM Product Key will not work to install a retail
product. An Italian Product Key will not work with an English CD.
Bottom line: Product Keys and CD types cannot be mixed & matched.

You'll need to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade)
installation, using the VL CD and Product Key.

Sorry, but this is the fact.

I'm trying to use this tools (Win KeyFinder_BETA_ 1.70) to simplify solve my OEM Server Windows 2003 SP1.

I do this steps:
~ Backup Activation Key
~ Backup Volume Serial Number
~ Take a note everything that displayed from this tools.

And Than I Format and Reinstall The Server.

For recovery i take this step:
~ Change volume serial number
~ Restore The Backup Key
~ Restart

I still get "Activate Your Server" message when login.

Please use my experiences to repack your tools.

Please Note:
I don't use pirated version, i use this for hardware maintenance.

By the way u do the best.

I hope this tools will help everyone for recovery purpose without breaking law.

Hi, do you have a backup of activation? when it was activated? If yes only then it works.

Apart from this you should also note down the time of backup when taken and revert the system clock to the time of backup when restoring the backup!

Along with the steps that you have done!

As far as I know, WinkeyFinder, no way breaks the law, "IT IS UPTO USER's HOW THEY USE THE TOOL" PPL use windows os to hack others system it doesnt mean windows is breaking law, its the one who misuses it.. is the culprit..

Hi! thanks for your enthusiasm. However, in my case, the program announced that the serial number was changed, please restart your computer to take the effect. After restarting, everything is the same. The program still detected the old key. (Windows xp service pack 2 is activated and up to date).

Can you provide me what version of winkeyfinder?
I will be able to answer to your query precisely if you can tell me the version of winkeyfinder you used? sp2 with any updates? like microsoft genuine software? because even that software affects few features?

There is a slight delay in release, it will be out soon.
Adding couple of new features to it.

You need to have wami(windows management intrusion) installed in your computer to make winkeyfinder work properly!
