I have attempted to save and restore my windows activation on either side of a reinstall. Despite this, Windows continues to ask for activation each time I logon. Am I misunderstanding the purpose of this function, or is something else wrong? Thanks!!!

I found your post of a newer version. I used the second and, when trying to access the Office key (MS Office 2003) now NOTHING happens. The application returns nothing. Also, when trying to use the save/restore activation function, Windows continues to ask for activation after I have restored what was saved before the rebuild.

Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi, Windows Activation method is so sensitive that even a minor change in hardware or the information stored in activation file, mismatches the information that is generated after reinstallation or any modification, It will nullify the activation file and ask you to reactivate.

Hence The activation file must not contain anything different. The best thing If your hardware has not changed and did a clean install.
In this case Windows XP generates a new Volume Serial numbers, for every partition,. To make sure that Activation works smoothly in this case, Do copy the Volume serial number of all the drives(mostly the drive on which it is installed is enough) and Save along with Activation file, pls copy the date and time as well.

Once done with that.. While restoring activation, Change back the volume serial number to the old one that you saved and also change the date and time(only for short duration), and copy the activation file.
This way it works, there is no other easy way out.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 SP2

Hi,
thank you for your program.

The issue is
- I have a good e legitimated license on my old pc.
- I've bought a second hand one with an illegal copy of Windows XP SP2 on it
- I want to change this PC product key and substitute it with my legitimate one.

Is it possible?

I ask this because I tried to do what follow:
- I have run the last WinKeyFinder (downloaded right now)
- I cliked "change key" button
- I typed my old product key
- Clicking "change key" I receive a long error/warning message that say "this happen when you key-in a wrong invalid banned product key"
- Re typing the code and clicking "Try New XPSP2 Key Change(BETA)", the hourglass appears as something being processed, no errors are popping and finally the product stay unchanged...

Any idea about this?
What the hdd serial number changer is supposed to be needed for?

Thank you for any tip or idea and instruction on the correct procedure to follow.

Regards

Robert

sorry for late reply, are these two products of same verson?
Also you will need to uninstall if you ever use / transfer ur key. Original key can be used only for one system based on license purchased.
