Finding windows 98 Key

Hi Imran,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I couldn't find the right place. I have a toshiba laptop with windows 98, and just used the recovery cd to load win98 on it (I am just using this for internet browsing). I am trying to recover the Key because I have lost the jewel case. Wondering if you could help me with this. I cannot enter windows to run your program.

Where you able you? login to your windows installation?
You said you are not able to and also said using windows 98 for internet, Im not clear pls confirm if you were able to access windows 98 or not? If yes please let me know I will re confirm it here.

Assalam-u-alaikum Imran,

Basically I used my Toshiba restore CD on this laptop and now when it boots up and windows starts, the system is asking me for the windows key. But as I said, I have lost the CD case that had this information. So I am stuck and cannot go past the screen asking for the key (the only options are "enter key" or "shutdown". Thanks for replying.

thats really bad, that means there is not key in windows at all?
and sadly even microsoft have stopped their support for windows 98.
Probably you can contact them by mail and tell them what is the situation and how you can get a new key? if they can give.
